Affordable herbs
In the spirit of Jamie Oliver, grow your own herbs. Rosemary, mint, sage and the rest are possibly the most overpriced items on the supermarket shelves, and all you need are a couple of pots and some compost to have a regular supply of affordable herbs. No garden required if you have an indoor herb garden and only growing weeds are easier than growing herbs!
