Save on Royal Mail postage
IF you MUST use the post office, it’s not hard to save money.
Royal mail postage costs and Royal Mail parcel rates seem to me to have steadily climbed over the years. And since the Royal Mail started charging on size of envelope as well as weight, there are some rather silly anomalies.
For instance - sending two slim books in one A4 envelope would cost you £2.20, while sending same in two A5 envelopes would cost £1.80.
If you have A4 documents, DON’T send them in A4 envelopes, fold them down to small envelopes. And don’t forget that you can buy Royal Mail stamps online. Also investigate Royal mail optouts - do you really have to use the Post Office?
